LIVING STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Jesus Stations Head

TRADITION

The Holy Trinity Seminary will host live Stations of the Cross which will be held at the Holy Trinity Seminary Chapel on Palm Sunday at 7:00 p.m. The long standing tradition of live meditations on the Stations of the Cross was conceived many years ago by seminarians who wanted to give back to the students of the university in a spiritual way. Later it was opened to everyone who wanted to experience this prayerful and powerful event. It has thus become a way of spiritual preparation for the upcoming Holy Week for all individuals wishing to attend. This is a seminary sponsored event planned and hosted by the seminarians themselves. Collaboration for the meditation is also supported by the University of Dallas Campus Ministry.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

The meditation will consist of still framed depictions of Christ’s passion played by both seminarians and University of Dallas students. During each station,

a meditation will be read reflecting on the meaning of the station and calling us to examine our own lives in preparation for the upcoming Holy Week. The music, presented by the Holy Trinity Seminary Scholá, adds to the prayerful mood and reflection. While most live stations appear to be a production, this event is geared to reflect something more. The goal of these stations is directed in providing the audience with the opportunity for deep prayer and reflection on Christ’s passion.

INVITATION

All guests & University of Dallas students are encouraged to attend the living Stations of the Cross at 7:00 PM on Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010 in the Chapel at Holy Trinity. This event is open to everyone who wishes to experience the prayerful and powerful experience. Bring your family and friends to enter into Holy Week with your goal on the true mystery we are preparing to celebrate. There will be a reception immediately following the prayer. We look forward to see you there!

Holy Trinity Seminary was a dream brought to reality in 1965 by Bishop Thomas K. Gorman of the Diocese of Dallas-Fort Worth. It was Bishop Gorman's daring plan to establish a seminary on the campus of the University of Dallas, a Catholic co-educational university. As a result the seminary is located within the 1,000 acre campus of the University of Dallas -- the perfect place to seek God in quiet prayer.
